The vision of the Bonar Trust is investing in training the next generation of leaders for the church in Scotland.
The trustees welcome applications from individuals on an Apprenticeship Programme or Minister in Training Programmes in a church in Scotland.
Each week we’re introducing you to different people supported by the Bonar Trust. Today’s post introduces James Amour, who is a first-year ministry apprentice at Charlotte Baptist Chapel in Edinburgh.
“The Bonar Trust has played a pretty vital role in my training already and I hope will continue to, as I would not be able to afford to work full time at Harper Church apart from the generous grant they have given to me for this year.”
“The Trust, both financially and through the personal example and encouragement of the Trustees, has played a significant role in my training and shaping for future ministry. It was down to meeting one of the Trustees that the initial door opened for us to return to Scotland as a family a number of years ago, and the financial, personal and prayerful support of the Trust has been crucial as we have been enabled and equipped to serve here in St. Andrews and further afield. The vision to train men and women for the Scottish harvest field is one that resonated with us years ago, and still does to this day.”
