Ministry Apprentices

ADRIAN MORENO GONZALEZ
Adrián completed his PhD in Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh in 2025 and is now a Ministry Associate at Chalmers Church Edinburgh. He is involved in leading small group Bible studies and working with international people. As part of his training Adrián goes to Cornhill two days a week. After completing the Associate Programme he would like to continue with further ministry training.

GRACE WILSON
Grace studied Environmental Science in St Andrews before staying in town as a Ministry Trainee in St Andrews Free Church. When she isn't studying at Cornhill two days a week she is primarily involved in the student ministry, but also has the joy of partnering with parents by serving in the toddler ministry on Sundays. If God wills, in the future Grace hopes to go into full-time Christian ministry.

AUGUSTINE KUSI
Augustine was born and raised in Ghana. After obtaining his first degree in Psychology from the University of Ghana, he resigned from banking to pursue a Theology degree at George Whitefield College, Cape Town. After completing the Cornhill Training Course in London in 2021, Augustine returned from Ghana in August 2025 to start his Tron apprenticeship training and PTC and hopes to settle into full-time ministry work of discipleship, equipping and pastoral care. Augustine’s ministry work at the Tron includes International Students’ Bible study, growth group, and the Farsi Ministry.

AZARIAH FELTON
Azariah Felton is currently undertaking a Ministry Traineeship at St Silas Church in Glasgow, in conjunction with the Cornhill Scotland Training Course. His work at St Silas includes leading Bible studies and helping the Sunday services to run well and glorify God. Azariah and his wife Abbey moved to Glasgow in 2024, and enjoy playing music, cooking, and exploring Scotland. He is excited to spend the next two years learning how to teach the Bible and serve the Church well and is grateful to the Bonar Trust for their support.

KERR SEWELL
Kerr worked for the civil service in Glasgow and London for four years after studying Law. Having grown up in The Tron Church he moved back with his wife to Glasgow and started his ministry apprenticeship there in 2023. Kerr is involved in leading small group Bible Studies and working with young people. He also studies at Cornhill two days a week. Kerr plans to pursue further ministry training after his Apprenticeship.

ELLA LATHAM
Ella is a Ministry Associate at Chalmers Church in Edinburgh. Before this she studied Economics at Edinburgh University. In her role she receives training at the Cornhill Training Course as well as serving within the various ministries at church. Ella predominantly works with primary aged children by helping with the children’s work on a Sunday as well as evangelistic outreach to children through a termly Saturday afternoon club and Holiday club. After finishing the Associate Programme she hopes to continue to work with children in a local church context.

ULVIS SILAVNIEKS
Ulvis studied engineering at the University of Glasgow, and now serves as an Apprentice at the Tron Church, Glasgow, where he became a Christian. He now studies at Cornhill and is involved in preaching and teaching for the Tron Youth, Internationals ministries, and Melvin Knox assemblies. His other ministries involve CBR UK educational displays and working on the sound team at the Tron Church. Ulvis is working for the Church to discern if he is fit for full time ministry and, depending upon the grace of God, would like to continue preaching and teaching.

Leaders In Training

IRFAN SHAHID
Having completed a ministry apprenticeship at Harper Memorial Baptist Church in Glasgow, Irfan is now a Pastor in Training through the Pastor’s Training Course at Cornhill Scotland. In addition to his studies, he is responsible for developing and overseeing the Asian Group Ministry at Harper. After completing his training he hopes to serve in full-time gospel ministry, and specifically to reach out to people with Asian backgrounds in Scotland.

STEPHEN PORTER
Stephen is a Pastor in Training at Hebron Evangelical Church in Aberdeen, having served as a Ministry Trainee for two years at Carrubbers Christian Centre in Edinburgh. Stephen studied Chemistry in Edinburgh and has previously worked as a research scientist in the field of agrochemical science. Stephen is passionate about teaching the Bible and will be involved primarily in working with students and young workers at Hebron. He studies at Cornhill, as part of the Pastor’s Training Course. Stephen would like to pursue full-time Christian ministry.

EMILY CRUTCHLEY
Before beginning her apprenticeship, Emily was involved with Cornerstone Community Church while studying English at Stirling University. During her apprenticeship, she has gained a wide variety of ministry experience and has been able to put her Cornhill training into practice, especially in youth and student ministry. She particularly enjoys reading the Bible with students and helping them do that with others. This time of study, service, and insight into the local church has been formative, and will prepare her for whatever future ministry God has for her.

KATHRYN WRIGHT
Kathryn worked in research and clinical laboratories for 9 years before leaving to enrol with Highland Theological College, studying part-time towards a degree in Theology. She has been supported as a Leader in Training for the past two years in a Seniors Worker post in Central Baptist Church, Dundee. She is involved in pastoral care, training, developing a care home ministry programme, leading Bible studies and speaking at various events in church and externally. After her training Kathryn hopes to continue working in a church context equipping and encouraging others to serve.

JOY HADDEN
Joy is a Ministry Apprentice with Carrubbers Christian Centre, Edinburgh. This involves attending Cornhill two days a week to improve Biblical understanding and Bible-handling skills. Within Carrubbers, she is involved in Church life and women and teenage ministries. Prior to the apprenticeship, Joy has spent 20+ in Environmental Health and Health and Safety related disciplines. And after the apprenticeship: she is praying God opens the doors to opportunities within a Church or Christian organisation

ANDREW MACKENZIE
Having moved to Glasgow for university, Andrew completed two years at St Silas Church Glasgow as a Ministry Trainee before continuing as a Leader in Training and beginning his part-time studies at Edinburgh Theological Seminary. Alongside this, Andrew is responsible for welcome and integration aspects of church life as well as helping run student and young worker Bible studies. After his training he hopes to serve in full-time gospel ministry in the church in Scotland.

FRASER NICHOLSON
Fraser has been a part of The Tron Church family since coming to Glasgow to study Law in 2016. After graduating, he spent five years on the staff at The Tron, firstly as a Ministry Apprentice and then with responsibility for the church’s Media Ministry. Fraser is now a Minister-in-Training at The Tron, helps to oversee Growth Groups and is involved in leading the congregation at The Tron at Queen’s Park. Fraser is currently studying on the Pastor’s Training Course at Cornhill Scotland which he hopes will equip him for a life of service in local church ministry.
